I work for the Scoliosis Research Society, one of the world’s premier spine societies, and in April we will be hosting the International Meeting on Advance Spine Techniques (IMAST) in Athens, Greece. IMAST gathers leading spine surgeons, innovative researchers, and the most advance spine technologies in an international forum. As staff, we prepare for the meeting, plan it, and run it on-site.
While the main purpose of my trip to Athens is work. I am also looking forward to getting some time to explore the city! Athens is full of history and is still dominated by 5th-century BC landmarks from Ancient Greece. As a history lover, I have a deep appreciation for historical monuments, museums, old architecture, etc. So being able to experience the history that Athens has to offer is something I am very excited for.
After I got married in 2018, my husband and I went to Santorini, Greece for our honeymoon and we fell in love with the culture and people. We spent 9 days in the beautiful island, and we both said we would love to go back to Greece. So it was awesome to find out that I would be going back there for a work trip!
I have always wanted to visit Athens because of all the historical sites there are to see, like the Acropolis. So I’m very excited for this upcoming trip! And aside from all the historical sites there are to visit, I’m also looking forward to exploring the markets, colorful neighborhoods, and delicious restaurants in the city.
