PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL CONTENT CREATION

Course Description:

In COMSTRAT 563 students generate original social media, PR, and advertising campaign elements for a single real or fictional company, organization, event or initiative. Project ideas are big enough to sustain from concept to fruition for 15 weeks, but not so broad or far-reaching, the student is unable to meet curriculum milestones along the way in messaging, creativity, campaign design, and implementation.

The course is designed to help students apply writing, critical thinking, and persuasion skills to the practice and promotion of PR and advertising, in both digital and social media outlets. Students will explore various digital promotion technologies, as well as the use of emerging social media to study their ethical application in both advertising and PR.
