Course Description:
Crisis Communication is a specialized course for graduate students interested in refining their expertise in crisis communication and public information strategies. In a world increasingly defined with risks and crises, the work of public information and public communication officers is becoming both more important and complex. Even the issues faced by small, local organizations contain national and global components. Handled poorly, these situations can quickly spin out of control. Handled well, crisis circumstances are mitigated and harm to the public reduced. Through Crisis Communication in a Global Contexts, students develop public information skills and build a crisis communication plan.
