Photoshop Tutorials

Welcome back!

In this post I will be sharing 5 images I created by following 5 different Photoshop tutorials. This assignment helped me familiarize myself with Photoshop and its many tools which will later help me with a Graphic Design Project coming up!

The first image was created during my “introduction to layers” tutorial. In this tutorial, I used layers, added 3 images to a single document, and replicated effects to each photo. I also got to incorporate one image of my own, which is the Santorini Church image. I chose this image because I was just there in July for my honeymoon (loved it so much!), and since the other images provided were of buildings I thought this image went well.

The second image was created during my “adjustment layers” tutorial. This tutorial taught me to add different effects to an image while using nondestructive layers that can be easily added or removed. This was a very helpful tutorial because it showed me a lot of different ways I can edit an image while keeping the focus on the cougars and making them stand out after each new effect.

This third image was also inspired by my recent honeymoon to Santorini, specifically a winery tour my husband and I did. I was asked to choose an image of my own (a close-up of a face or object) to complete the “layers masks” tutorial. In this tutorial I learned how mo make a grid and add different effects to each quadrant to make a pop art type image.

The fourth tutorial was on “text and effects” which taught me how to create effects to make my text look realistic on top of the photo given. I enjoyed this tutorial because it was cool to start with an image, then text, and then slowly merge the two together with different effects to make them look like one.

The fifth and final tutorial was “cutouts and blending modes.” This tutorial incorporated everything we had leaned on the previous tutorials, and also taught me how to successfully cutout a photo and/or delete something of a photo that I do not need.

Overall, this assignment taught me some very cool and helpful tools I can use in Photoshop. I believe knowing the material from the tutorials will come in handy with future assignments and in my career. I am glad I got to learn these tools and put them into practice.
