PERSUASION FOR PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATORS
Course Description:
This course is designed to familiarize you with key theories, concepts, strategies, and processes of persuasion and social influence. As you proceed through the course, you will develop a nuanced response to the question, “How do persuaders use strategic communication to influence the attitudes, beliefs and behaviors of others?” The biggest take away from this class will be learning about a variety of persuasion techniques and theories that you can employ in your own work. This is more of a theory based class than a practical based class. This course is designed to teach you about theories and how to apply them to work that is often done by those working in the fields of advertising and strategic communication.
The final projects for the class consisted on a paper and presentation, that focused on the semester long Facebook advocacy page that I created and posted content to.
