In my current class, COM561: Professional Multimedia Creation, we were asked to choose a topic to serve as the main subject for four projects we will be creating this semester. The four finished projects are: a graphic collage, a logo design, an audio story and a video project. To create these pieces we will be using Adobe CC software and techniques we learn throughout the course.
I have decided to pick a topic close to my heart and that has always interested me, Animal Rescue. Growing up in Venezuela and Mexico, I saw a lot of dogs and cats living on the streets and some of the awful things that happened to them always stuck with me. I grew to love animals and always found a way to help them when I could. Because of this I want to focus my projects on the importance of rescuing animals and properly taking care of them.
I have a small dog named Morgan, pictured below, who is treated like the baby of the family. Watching him grow since he was a tiny puppy has brought me so much happiness and has also brought awareness to the thousands of animals that don’t have it as nice as he does.
I am the type of person who will go out of her way to help an animal if it’s in danger, hurt, or lost. I have rescued dogs who are lost, baby squirrels that fell off their nest, a turtle that was hurt in the middle of a street, and a baby bird stuck in a parking garage who couldn’t find a way out.
My love for animals has always been something I want to turn into something more, like becoming a foster parent for pets waiting to be adopted or even opening my own shelter some day. I want to be able to do more and inform others on how to help animals. I want to make a difference and share how “pawsitive” animal rescue is!
I hope that with the help of this course I will be able to inform others about the topic as well as learn more myself.
